Ipratropium is used to help relieve symptoms in asthma and/or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Asthma and COPD affect the lungs which makes it harder for the person to breathe as the disease gets worse. Ipratropium helps to keep the airways open, making it easier for one to breathe.

If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Then take your next dose at the usual time. Do not take two doses to make up for the missed dose.
Cover the mouthpiece when the device is not being used.Once the bottle of solution for inhalation is opened, throw it away after one month.
For the Ipratropium inhaler, keep the cap on when not in use.
Pack this medication into a black trash bag and seal it tightly before throwing into the rubbish chute or bin.
