Transtelephonic Electrocardiogram (ECG) - What it is

The Transtelephonic Electrocardiogram (ECG) is a test where the electrical signals of the heart is recorded using a portable device. The ECG is later transmitted via corded telephone to a receiving centre at the NHCS.

The test is ideal for the detection of infrequent/transient abnormal heart rhythms. It is also useful for patients who complain of recurrent fainting spells.
