Health Screenings & Talks
For many, health only comes to mind during a bout of illness. At SKH, we want to change that. To us, healthcare is more than just treating the sick. We want to cultivate a healthy living ecosystem where residents actively participate and take charge of their health.
Integrating preventive care into outreach programmes, we have been working with community and faith-based organisations to encourage the community to take the first step to check their health status via health screenings and encouraging follow-ups with GPs. The Muslimin Day is an example of such screenings, done in collaboration with Al-Mawaddah Mosque to encourage Malay men to start caring about their health and get themselves screened, aimed at early detection of risk factors, as well as intervention to prevent or delay the onset of disease.
Our team of healthcare professionals also actively engages and empower the community with knowledge on health issues such as diabetes, dementia, cholesterol, and mental health conditions through health talks. One such event is the Sengkang West Health Fiesta which we organized together with Anchorvale Community Club Malay & Indian Executive Committees (MAEC & IAEC). The health fiesta reached out to educate the community on the importance of healthy living and diabetes prevention, with an interactive healthy dialogue by Dr Sueziani Binte Zainudin, SKH's Consultant at the Department of General Medicine.
