Profile

Clinical Asst Prof Faith Leong is a Consultant in Breast Surgery, Department of General Surgery, Sengkang General Hospital and a member of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Breast Centre. 

Asst Prof Leong completed her undergraduate medical training at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2015 where she graduated with honours, garnering multiple awards in medicine and surgery. 

She joined the General Surgery Residency Programme in 2016 and obtained the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland in 2016 and the Master of Medicine (Surgery) in 2020. After completing her residency training in 2021, Dr Leong obtained her Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was accredited as a Specialist in General Surgery by the Specialist Accreditation Board. 

She has a strong passion for the training and education of students and residents, and was awarded the Junior Doctor Teaching Award in 2021 by NUS, Singhealth RISE Award in 2023 and NUS Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2023. In 2024, she was appointed the Patient Safety Lead of Sengkang General Hospital. 

Asst Prof Leong’s areas of clinical interest are in breast and oncoplastic surgery, where emphasis is placed on balancing oncologic safety with cosmetic outcomes. She believes that patient care should be holistic and individualised to each patient through their treatment journey.
