Dr Dennis Chia is a dedicated Emergency Physician at Sengkang General Hospital with a passion for improving healthcare accessibility for migrant workers and enhancing the retention of junior doctors in the public healthcare system. Graduating from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2010, Dr Chia completed his Emergency Medicine Residency with the National University Health System in 2017. He is committed to medical education and mentorship, which shines through in his role as Programme Director of the Hospital Clinician Scheme, where he is dedicated to supporting junior doctors in building rewarding and sustainable careers within the public healthcare system. In addition to his work in medical education, Dr Chia is actively involved in advocating for the healthcare rights of migrant workers and foreign domestic workers. Alongside Dr Joanna Chan from Singapore General Hospital, he was recognised with the Healthcare Humanity Award (Special Mention) for their efforts in raising awareness among healthcare workers about the medical entitlements of these vulnerable populations.
