Profile
Dr Alvin Tan is a Consultant in the Department of General Surgery, Sengkang General Hospital. He graduated from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and completed his general surgery training under the SingHealth General Surgery Residency Programme. After which, he continued his sub-specialty training at the Department of Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary and Transplant Surgery at Singapore General Hospital. He subsequently received the HMDP (Health Manpower Development Plan) award and completed his sub-specialty fellowship training at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, Taiwan under the mentorship of Dr Chen Kuo-Hsin.
Dr Tan is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK). He currently serves as Core Faculty for the SingHealth PGY1 Residency and General Surgery Residency Programmes. His professional area of interest is in minimally invasive hepatopancreatic surgery.
